Contemporary Japanese artist Kiyo Hasegawa (b. 1984, Tokyo) graduated from Tama Art University with a degree in Japanese painting in 2009 and completed her Master's in 2011. She has showcased solo exhibitions in Tokyo, Kyoto, Helsinki, and London, as well as participated in group exhibitions and art fairs globally, including "Revolutionary Nihonga" at the Pola Museum of Art (2023) and the annual "West Bund Art and Design" in Shanghai. She was awarded "Women on the Frontier" by Harper's BAZAAR Japan in 2023, as a talent capable of creating new currents in Nihonga (Japanese-style painting).
Employing traditional mineral pigments and handmade Japanese paper, Hasegawa masterfully integrates bold brushstrokes, vibrant colors, and blank spaces, creating deliberate voids that invite viewers to step into her visual flow, immersing themselves in the aura of her sacred world.
