Overview

Born in 1984 in Japan (Tottori), Tanikawa graduated from Musashino Art University with a degree in Japanese Painting in 2008. He completed his Master's degree at Musashino Art University in 2010. Selected as a member of the Nitten (Japan Fine Arts Exhibition), the artist exhibits annually at the National Art Center and participates in international art fairs such as TEFAF Maastricht.

Tanikawa's art explores the concept of "Ma-ai," a term from Japanese martial arts denoting the balance of time and space. Using animals as symbols, he captures the essence of "Ma-ai" in human interactions, employing brush strokes, hues, and shapes to depict the dynamic energy of life and the aesthetics of dialogue.
